Paris Club Refund: Katsina, Oil Producing States Get Highest Allocation

The Federal Government, on Wednesday, revealed the amount each state got from the first tranche of the Paris club refunds to 35 states in the country, as well as the account the monies were paid into.

According to the figures, Katsina, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Lagos states received N14.5 billion each.

Katsina State, which is located in the North West zone of Nigeria, is the home to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Taraba, Adamawa, Ondo, Kwara, Gombe, and Ekiti got the lowest allocations between N4.2 billion and N8.9 billion each.

Recall that President Buhari last week directed the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria to release the 2nd tranche of the Paris club refunds to states.
