Former Gambian ruler and dictator, Yahya Jammeh, has denied reports that he plundered the state coffers before ceding power to President Adama Barrow.

Recall that Jammeh was reported to have swindled his country out of $11.4 million cash in his last days in office.

But according to investigations by a national newspaper, sources close to Jammeh denied reports that the ex-ruler ferried any cash by private jet out of the country as widely circulated.

“No such happened,” one of the sources said.

“In fact, it was impossible for looted monies to have been taken away on an aircraft that was in public glare. The radar of the international media, security forces and Gambian people was on the aircraft.

“It is practically impossible to load millions of dollars on the plane. In any case, no money was loaded into the plane, safe Guinean President Conde, Jammeh, his wife, mother and son,” the sources said.
